Clearly with such a high maximum win amount it should be extra noted that this slot machine is really volatile and high might not do it justice.

The Aztec/Mayan/Inca theme is a very popular one and trying to make one in this crowded genre that stands out from the rest of the herd is no easy task. Relax Gaming have however proven countless times that they can create some pretty solid slot machines and so if anyone is up to the task it should be them.

Well that is what you would think but the first impressions when you see Aztec Ascent aren’t that great, the reels are set in the stairs of a temple in the jungle and honestly we do not really like the visuals that much. The symbols fall a little flat and the overall quality is less than we personally expected.

Gameplay wise there is a Relic Random feature that can go off at (yes you guessed it random) and it results in a multiplier of up to 100x coming into play, additionally 1-4 high paying symbols are transformed into high paying symbols.

It is an interesting enough feature though we did not encounter it going of a lot which leaves a pretty bland base game.

This leaves the Ascension free spins which are a lot more interesting, collecting symbols of the same color (5 of them) during the various stages results in extra benefits/features and this is how you land a big win playing Aztec Ascent with increasing multipliers, transforming symbols and more.

All in all though there is nothing that we have not seen before, it is not that Aztec Ascent is a bad slot but we don’t think it does enough to stand out in this genre.
