The boat began eating coins before it caught anything.
Gold pieces fell from the outer reels, missed the middle Scatter and dropped into the pile on deck. Silver ones followed. A Scatter passed through the centre with no cash beside it, bounced off the grid and joined them.
The heap grew between the fishermen.
Nobody touched it.
The boat simply carried the whole metallic shoal around while orange fish, blue fish, bottles, hats and one wet-looking dog kept crossing the three reels above the water.
At €1.00 a spin, the sea had developed a very specific sense of timing.
A €3 coin landed on the left.
The centre reel produced a hat.
A Scatter arrived one spin later, when the coin had already rolled into the boat.
A €5 value appeared on the right with a Scatter in the middle, and the game collected it cleanly enough to remind me that the equipment technically worked.
Then both outer reels filled with coins and the centre supplied a bottle.
The boat received all of them.
By then, the pile had started looking less like bait and more like something the fishermen had dredged from a wishing well using stolen rope.
Each failed arrangement added another piece.
Coins without a Scatter.
Scatters without coins.
A cash value on the left while the right reel produced a blue fish staring directly at it.
The boat rode lower in the water.
The lighthouse remained upright in the distance, although it had begun to look concerned.
A Scatter eventually landed in the middle with a €1.50 coin on the left.
Nothing appeared on the right.
The collector pulled in the €1.50 and left the bonus sleeping.
The fishermen kept feeding the pile.
A silver coin joined.
Another Scatter dropped into it.
Then the heap moved.
Gold shook across the deck. The coins jumped. Something underneath them kicked the boat hard enough to throw water over the side.
The next spin arrived carrying a Scatter in the centre, €2 on the left and €1.50 on the right.
Both outer reels had cash.
The middle had the collector.
Bad Bass 3 Reels finally stopped storing the catch and opened the hold-and-respin.
The three symbols stayed on the grid.
The Scatter clung to the centre.
The €2 coin held on the left.
The €1.50 sat on the right.
Three respins appeared.
Above each outer reel, a fishnet dropped into the top row carrying 2x.
Two nets.
Two columns.
One boat that had spent the entire base game filling itself with coins and now wanted to discuss fishing.
The first respin pushed both nets into the middle row.
A €3 coin landed inside the left one.
The net snapped shut.
Six euros tore across the water and joined the collector in the centre. The left net doubled to 4x and flew back to the top, dripping blue light.
The right net remained in the middle with nothing inside it.
A promising start.
The next respin moved the left 4x net down to the middle. The right 2x net reached the bottom, caught only seawater, doubled to 4x and returned to the top.
No new symbol landed.
Two respins remained.
The nets dropped again.
The left one reached the bottom empty, became 8x and returned to the surface. The right 4x net moved into the middle.
A €1 coin landed on the right.
Top row.
The net hung directly beneath it.
The collector still dragged the euro into the middle, but the multiplier watched from one floor down while a tiny cash fish swam over its head.
Three respins returned.
The left 8x net dropped into the middle.
The right 4x reached the bottom, found nothing and came back as 8x.
No coin.
The feature lost a respin.
On the following drop, the left net reached the bottom, doubled to 16x and reset. The right 8x moved through the middle.
A €0.50 coin landed at the top of the left reel.
The 16x net had just left.
Fifty cents slid into the collector without multiplication while the net climbed back above it, apparently returning to inspect the scene.
The respins reset.
The right net continued downward and came back as 16x after another empty bottom row.
A €5 coin landed at the top of that same right reel.
The net had already restarted above the grid and dropped into the middle on the next spin, leaving the fiver one row behind.
Five euros entered normally.
The nets kept growing.
They were not catching money.
They were developing reputations.
The left 16x reached the bottom empty and returned as 32x.
The right 16x descended through the middle.
Nothing landed.
Then the right net hit the bottom, doubled to 32x and went back to the top. The left 32x occupied the middle.
A €1.50 coin appeared in the bottom-left position.
The net hung above it.
The collector pulled in the €1.50 while the 32x mesh stared down through one row of water.
Every coin knew where the net had been.
Every net knew where the coin had gone.
The feature continued because each new value reset the three respins, but the boat had now become a machine for arranging fishing equipment around money.
The left 32x net dropped to the bottom with nothing inside it.
It returned as 64x.
The right 32x moved through the middle, reached the bottom on the next respin and came back as 64x too.
No new symbols appeared.
Two respins remained.
Both outer reels stood empty.
The centre Scatter held €17.50.
The left 64x net dropped into the middle.
The right 64x descended toward the bottom.
Nothing landed.
One respin remained.
The nets moved again.
The left 64x mesh reached the bottom row.
A €0.50 coin landed inside it.
Half a euro.
The smallest cash value the sea could throw without using a wet button.
The net closed.
Sixty-four times hit.
€32 burst from a fifty-cent coin and slammed into the centre collector.
The whole boat lurched.
The fishermen disappeared behind spray.
The lighthouse received water at window height.
The left net doubled to 128x and shot back to the top, having finally caught something and immediately exaggerated the story.
The collector climbed to €49.50.
Three respins returned.
Now the bonus had a proper catch.
It had simply used a net capable of restraining a sea monster to collect half a euro.
The next spin produced nothing.
The left 128x net moved into the middle. The right 64x net reached the bottom empty, became 128x and reset.
Two respins.
Nothing landed again.
The left 128x net touched the bottom, doubled to 256x and returned to the top. The right 128x dropped through the middle.
One respin remained.
Both outer reels spun.
No coin.
No extra Scatter.
No final silver glint.
The left 256x net settled in the middle row. The right 128x reached the bottom, doubled to 256x and returned to the top.
The respin counter emptied.
€49.50 remained inside the sticky centre collector.
The bonus closed with two enormous nets still hanging over completely vacant water.
One carried 256x in the middle of the left reel.
The other carried 256x at the top of the right.
Between them sat the Scatter with the entire catch, most of it supplied by one €0.50 coin that had wandered into industrial fishing equipment.
The boat returned to the base game.
The coin pile still sat on deck.
The dog appeared on the first reel.
A bottle landed in the centre.
One blue fish occupied the right.
No line.
I left €11.50 beneath the water.
Behind the boat, both 256x nets remained somewhere in the feature, fully grown and waiting for a coin that had already gone home.
