The Scatter arrived wearing a false moustache and claimed to be a premium symbol.

The mountain ended with sixteen raccoons on fire.

Not burning.

Organised.

Each one sat inside a Fire Frame, grey mask glowing orange, small hands raised in front of its chest. The frames covered nearly the entire reel area. Lava ran around their edges. Sparks crossed the snow behind them.

The raccoons stared outward.

Sixteen identical faces.

Sixteen pairs of hands.

Enough fingers to operate every emergency lever on the mountain and still steal the lever afterward.

A Buffalo Relic had caused it.

The horned symbol had landed on the middle reel, opened its eyes and released an Inferno Storm across the grid. Fire Frames burst into sixteen positions. Bears, eagles, letters and one puma disappeared inside the flames.

The frames chose a beast.

Raccoon.

Everything became raccoon.

The bear stopped roaring.

The eagle surrendered the sky.

The puma lost ownership of several cliffs.

The letters were removed from the wildlife discussion completely.

The resulting formation spread through the ways and paid heavily enough to make the final departure obvious. The reels celebrated with lava, smoke and a mountain full of animals whose natural response to unattended property was already concerning before they became fireproof.

Above them, the Inferno Core continued burning.

A cracked ball of magma floating over the left side of the reels.

It looked pleased.

The raccoons looked promoted.

That was the final fire.

The mountain had been frozen when I arrived.

Snow sat across the peaks. Dark pines clung to the slopes. Two stone towers framed the five reels while the evening sky turned purple behind them.

The Inferno Core hovered near the upper-left corner.

It was a molten sphere suspended over several metres of snow, which should have created a local weather event. The snow remained untouched.

Grand x1000.

Major x250.

Minor x25.

Mini x10.

The four values hung beneath the Core on stone plaques.

At €1.00 per round, I treated them as mountain warnings.

The reels carried the local population.

Bear.

Eagle.

Puma.

Raccoon.

Buffalo.

The bear arrived roaring from inside its frame.

The eagle looked directly across the grid with the confidence of an animal that would contribute nothing to ground evacuation.

The puma had already blamed me.

The raccoon appeared calm because the raccoon had pockets nobody could see.

A Wild volcano occupied the centre occasionally, pouring lava over its own label. Fire Ball Scatters rolled through the middle reels. Bonus Inferno Coins arrived glowing red, each with either a number or a question mark sealed inside.

Whenever one landed, the Inferno Core pulled it from the reels.

The coin rose.

The molten sphere opened.

The coin vanished into the fire.

Nothing in the mountain questioned why its central security system was eating currency.

The first offerings were small.

x1.

x2.

A Mystery Boost opened into x3.

The Core swallowed each one, flared brighter and returned to floating above the jackpots with the expression of a sun that had found loose change.

Small ways wins passed underneath it.

Raccoons met other raccoons.

Bears found enough bears.

An eagle formation crossed the reels and disappeared with considerably less dignity than the individual birds had advertised.

The session still moved downward.

The mountain was full of animals and almost none of them had arrived with relatives.

The first serious fire came from the buffalo.

Its Relic appeared on reel three.

A pair of burning hoofprints struck the stone.

The air behind the reels turned orange.

Twelve Fire Frames opened across the symbols.

The bear roared through one.

The eagle spread its wings inside another.

Three raccoons stood in separate corners, already evaluating which flames were portable.

Then every framed position changed.

Pumas.

Twelve sections of the mountain became puma at once.

The grid filled with yellow eyes and purple stone borders, an entire cliff face suddenly deciding it had teeth. The transformed cats connected across the ways and produced the first useful payment of the session. Fire rolled through the frames, the win entered the total, and the mountain returned the animals to their original species with no explanation for what the pumas had done with them.

The Inferno Storm left behind a difficult question.

The Buffalo Relic had transformed bears, eagles, raccoons and several letters into pumas.

The buffalo itself had disappeared before anyone could ask where it had put the original animals.

I began following the raccoon after that.

The bear had volume.

The eagle had altitude.

The puma had recently occupied most of the mountain without warning.

The raccoon had hands.

Hands felt important around a floating ball of lava.

Fire Ball Scatters began appearing in pairs.

One burned on reel two.

Another landed on reel four.

Reel three supplied a buffalo, a Wild or an animal that had no immediate connection to free spins.

The fireballs sat across the mountain waiting for their missing centre.

The Inferno Core watched from above.

No third Scatter.

The pair disappeared.

Another two arrived later and failed in the opposite arrangement. The mountain could launch an Inferno Storm across twelve positions but remained unable to park three burning balls on consecutive middle reels.

By then, the earlier pumas had been absorbed into the loss.

The Core kept eating Bonus Inferno Coins.

Mostly x1.

Occasionally x2.

One question mark produced x4 and briefly made the floating magma appear capable of personal growth.

Then a plain Bonus Inferno Coin rose from the lower reels.

The Core swallowed it.

The mountain split vertically.

Stone walls climbed above the original grid.

Chains appeared across four hidden rows.

Hold N’ Load opened.

The original four rows remained active below.

Above them waited the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth.

Each floor was chained shut.

A glowing lock marked the first threshold with three.

Higher locks showed ten, fifteen and twenty.

The slot had been hiding another mountain over the mountain.

The animals disappeared.

Only Bonus Inferno Coins remained.

Three Respins burned at the side.

The first coins struck the lower rows and stayed.

Red stone.

Molten centres.

Reward Boost values sealed inside.

Every fresh arrival restored the counter to three.

The Core watched above them, no longer eating the coins immediately. It had apparently reached the stage of the meal where presentation mattered.

Three qualifying coins gathered.

The first lock exploded.

Chains fell from the fifth row.

The structure rose.

New positions opened above the original reels, and one coin that had been waiting behind the chains dropped into view.

It joined the collection.

The counter did not reset.

The mountain had released a coin from behind its own chains and decided that its arrival did not count as arrival.

The coin sat there glowing.

The Respins continued falling.

I looked toward the raccoon for guidance.

There was no raccoon.

Hold N’ Load had removed the only member of the expedition with fingers.

More coins collected across the active rows.

Most carried x1.

A Reward Boost x5 landed near the centre.

A Mystery Boost settled on the left.

The counter repeatedly returned to three as the lower structure filled.

At ten qualifying coins, the next chain snapped.

The sixth row opened.

Another section of the volcanic tower appeared above the reels. More coins woke behind the broken chains and joined the feature without helping the next lock or restoring the Respins.

The mountain had released more money from captivity and once again refused to count the escape.

Then Extra Boost struck.

Four x2 marks burned themselves onto empty positions.

Not coins.

Targets.

Small molten brands fixed to the stone, waiting for whatever entered those cells.

One sat in the sixth row.

Another marked the lower-right corner.

Two spread through the centre.

The feature changed immediately.

Every empty x2 position became a lit doorway.

The ordinary spaces could receive coins.

The marked spaces could receive consequences.

A Reward Boost x4 entered one.

The mark flared.

x8.

The Core pulsed.

A second marked position caught the x5.

x10.

Then a green Mini Power Boost landed on the lower-right x2.

Mini x10 became x20.

The mountain had started doubling jackpots while the eighth floor was still hanging above the feature in chains.

The final x2 cell waited in the sixth row.

Respins slipped away.

A coin landed elsewhere and restored them.

Two empty movements followed.

Another x1 arrived low.

Three Respins again.

The chained seventh row hung above everything with fifteen glowing on its lock.

The eighth waited higher at twenty, far enough away to feel like a summit reserved for animals with oxygen equipment.

A Mystery Boost entered the final marked position.

Question mark.

Red fire.

x2 beneath it.

The entire feature paused.

The Mystery coin cracked open.

Purple light filled the sixth row.

Major.

x250.

The x2 mark ignited.

x500.

The Major coin expanded inside its position until the stone around it looked ornamental.

Five hundred times the stake sat halfway up a volcanic tower built over a frozen mountain, guarded by no animals at all.

The bear would have roared.

The eagle would have claimed it had seen this coming.

The puma would have occupied the adjacent row.

The raccoon would already have been inside the coin.

The Inferno Core drew fire around the Major but left it fixed.

The feature continued.

From that moment, every new x1 coin felt small enough to be carried by ash. They still mattered because the next lock demanded fifteen qualifying arrivals.

The lower rows tightened.

Coins filled gaps.

Respins returned.

The counter dropped.

Returned again.

The structure had stopped behaving like a set of reels and become a furnace trying to build upward before its own flame ran out.

The fifteenth qualifying coin landed.

The seventh lock broke.

Chains snapped across the screen.

Another row opened above the Major.

Coins hidden behind it activated and glowed, but the counter ignored them. The mountain had once again uncovered its own money and treated the discovery as an unrelated geological event.

Seven rows now stood open.

The feature had grown from twenty positions to thirty-five.

At the top, the eighth row remained chained.

Twenty on the lock.

Five more qualifying coins away.

The new space was enormous.

Too enormous.

The remaining coins had room to miss everywhere.

One Reward Boost landed and restored the Respins.

Then the emptiness began.

Coins passed through the open rows.

A Minor Power Boost flashed near the top and continued.

A Mystery symbol rolled behind the chains of the eighth row, visible for a moment in the darkness.

It did not enter.

The counter reached two.

Then one.

A final x1 coin struck an active position and returned the count to three.

The mountain breathed again.

Three empty movements followed.

The eighth row never opened.

Its chain remained intact above the collection, twenty still glowing on the lock. The slot had built seven floors of volcanic currency and left the penthouse under buffalo control.

The Hold N’ Load ended.

The doubled Major contributed 500x by itself.

The doubled Mini added another 20x.

The boosted Reward Coins and the field of smaller values pushed the feature beyond 550x.

Fire travelled through every occupied position.

The coins rose into the Inferno Core.

The molten sphere swallowed the entire tower.

Rows collapsed.

Chains vanished.

Snowy mountains returned behind the reels as though nothing underneath them had recently developed a seventh floor and a jackpot economy.

The strong win had already settled the session.

I stayed because the raccoon returned immediately.

One appeared on the first reel.

Another on the fifth.

They looked across the animals between them.

Bear.

Puma.

Eagle.

Buffalo.

The mountain had restored its full wildlife committee.

Then the Buffalo Relic landed on reel three.

Burning hoofprints struck the grid.

The second Inferno Storm began.

Fire Frames spread wider than before.

One after another, sixteen positions caught.

The bear entered the flames.

The eagle entered the flames.

The puma entered the flames.

Letters, animals and one ordinary volcano disappeared behind orange borders.

The frames chose their single beast.

Raccoon.

Sixteen raccoons emerged.

They covered the mountain from left to right.

Grey faces.

Black masks.

Small hands held above the fire.

The ways opened through them and produced one last heavy payment.

The bear had begun the session roaring.

The eagle had watched from above.

The puma had taken twelve Fire Frames during the first storm.

The buffalo had unlocked every inferno and remained for none of the consequences.

Only the raccoon survived long enough to inherit the mountain.

I left Beasts of Fire Inferno deep in front while the Inferno Core burned above sixteen identical new officials.

None carried water.

One was already touching the Major plaque.

The others had begun removing the Fire Frames from the walls.

The mountain had finally found a beast capable of handling an emergency.

It had also found sixteen beasts capable of stealing it.
