Carlo had five Coins ready for the Big Heist, and the final empty cell received a cigar.
His crew had brought masks, dice, gold chains, three coloured lighters and enough explosives to make the washing machine nervous.
Nobody had brought Coin number six.
A 5x Coin occupied the upper-right corner. Two more sat through the centre. Another had landed near the bottom, and the fifth dropped beside a pair of dice after a cluster disappeared.
Six Coins in one round would open the Big Heist.
The last cascade began.
A Carlo chain fell across the top. A blue mask landed beneath it. The nervous little man arrived clutching his bundle against his chest. Dice bounced into separate corners like they had agreed not to be seen together.
One space remained.
The cigar landed there.
Carlo stood beside the reels with his three lighters arranged neatly on the desk and watched the entire robbery fail because his organisation had prioritised smoking.
The cascade ended.
The five Coins vanished with the round.
That cigar stayed in my head.
Chunky Carlo’s Money Mania had spent the previous half hour preparing for this exact disappointment with all the restraint of a gold chain thrown through a window.
The back room looked ready for serious trouble. Loose cash lay across the carpet. A safe waited against the wall. Boxes were stacked beside a washing machine that had probably removed more evidence than stains. Red shoes spilled from another crate. Blueprints hung near the desk. Carlo leaned over three colour-coded lighters in a white jacket and pink shirt, cigar raised as if the whole operation depended on correct ash placement.
I had stayed at €1.20.
The early rounds moved constantly without travelling anywhere.
Four blue masks formed a cluster, disappeared and made room for dice. The dice vanished next and dropped two red-jacketed enforcers on opposite sides of the grid. The nervous man appeared repeatedly, sweating over his bundle while everyone around him wore masks and smoked indoors.
The red, green and purple Lighter meters kept their progress between rounds.
That gave the room a slow pulse. A red lighter landed, fed its meter and disappeared. Green arrived several spins later. Purple dropped beside a chain cluster and added another step to whatever Carlo had planned above the desk.
The lighters remembered everything.
The payouts forgot immediately.
The first completed meter triggered Mob Hit.
A target appeared on the grid. Symbols around it were blasted away: masks, dice, one cigar and part of a chain cluster disappeared in the attack.
Fresh symbols fell into the opening.
Four Carlo chains connected. They vanished. Red-jacketed men gathered underneath and paid again.
The round reached €7.80.
Carlo had cleared a section of his own hideout with mob violence and uncovered enough money for six and a half spins.
He nodded beside the lighters.
The safe remained directly behind him.
Progress resumed.
Coins started arriving alone.
A 5x Coin landed beside a Wild made from bundles of cash and joined a small cascade. A 10x Coin appeared in another round but found no second Coin and no cluster to keep the drop alive. One Coin triggered the Mini Instant Prize at 5x, which flashed beside a room containing a safe, dynamite and several masked men.
The Mega waited at 100x.
Major showed 25x.
Minor sat at 10x.
Mini remained at 5x, roughly the criminal equivalent of Carlo remembering money in a jacket pocket.
The second completed meter brought Cancel.
Blue masks were the most common symbol.
Every mask disappeared.
For a brief moment, Carlo’s hideout contained no disguises.
Fresh symbols dropped into the holes and immediately returned several masks.
Cancel had emptied the room of masked men and then reopened the ceiling for the same masked men.
A chain cluster paid. Dice connected afterward. The cascade finished with two Coins standing far apart and the nervous man in the middle, gripping his bundle with the expression of the only person present who knew the Big Heist required six.
The balance had slipped by the time the third meter completed.
Magic Money changed that.
Several symbols transformed into Wild bundles of cash across the centre of the grid. One linked the red-jacketed men into a large cluster. They disappeared. Two remaining Wilds helped another group form below. Thick Carlo chains joined after that, covering enough connected cells to make the reels look as though the jewellery had taken control of the gang.
The cascades kept moving.
A 5x Coin landed during the sequence.
Another Coin followed after the chains vanished.
Then the Minor Instant Prize struck for 10x.
The round reached €68.40.
Carlo lifted his cigar.
The safe stayed shut. The washing machine remained silent. Loose notes moved across the floor while the back room briefly looked capable of financing its own robbery.
Magic Money had used the correct word.
I was ahead.
Leaving would have been sensible, but the three Lighter meters had already begun filling again and the Big Heist had not appeared. Carlo still had masks in every corner, dice across the grid and enough gold chains to restrain a small building.
Walking away immediately after he turned half the room into Wild cash felt like escaping through the front door while wearing his name around my neck.
The gain started leaking back.
A few dice paid here. Four cigars connected there. Chains formed only after the Wild had landed somewhere useless. Coins arrived in pairs, occasionally three across a longer cascade, but never six in the same round.
Then the five-Coin sequence began.
The first Coin appeared on the opening grid.
A mask cluster vanished and dropped two more.
The red-jacketed men connected through a Wild, making room for a fourth.
Dice disappeared near the bottom.
Coin number five landed.
The room suddenly looked organised.
Five multiplier discs glowed among chains, masks, dice and burning lighters. Behind one more Coin waited the Big Heist with locked values, three respins and Time Bombs ready to multiply adjacent Coins at the finish.
The sixth Coin had become the only member of Carlo’s crew who had taken the getaway car home.
The last drop came.
Chain.
Mask.
Nervous man.
Dice.
Cigar.
After that round, the rest of the grid lost its meaning.
I watched only for six Coins.
Two arrived together and failed to grow.
Mob Hit blasted symbols around a selected target, removing one Coin with the surrounding clutter before the replacements produced none.
Cancel erased a crowd of dice and exposed three Coins during the cascades, but the next drop supplied chains.
Magic Money had not rebuilt. Its meter still needed several lighters.
The red, green and purple symbols landed often enough to keep Carlo busy at the desk, never often enough to give me another useful move before the balance returned to where the session had started.
I kept the stake at €1.20.
There was no raise and no fresh Carlo waiting at another wager.
This version had already shown me five Coins together. The sixth belonged somewhere in his room. Behind the safe, perhaps. Inside the washing machine. Under the red shoes. Possibly hanging from his neck among the chains.
A late round produced four Coins and no cluster win.
Another dropped a 10x Coin, collected it during a short cascade and ended before enough company arrived.
The Mini triggered again.
€6.00.
Carlo’s smallest prize flashed beside the explosives.
The room possessed the equipment for an international incident and celebrated with five spins.
My earlier lead disappeared.
A little more followed it.
The meters remained partly filled above the reels. Carlo held his cigar. Chains continued spelling his name across the grid. Masks returned in groups. Dice landed wherever Coins should have been.
The final round opened several spaces after a chain cluster vanished.
A purple lighter dropped first.
A Wild bundle followed.
One 5x Coin landed near the bottom.
The remaining gaps received two masks, the nervous man and a cigar.
The grid stopped.
Carlo had three lighters, a safe, blueprints, explosives, disguises, loaded dice, loose cash, a washing machine and enough gold chains to tow the hideout into another postcode.
He never assembled six Coins in one round.
The Big Heist remained behind the reels, waiting for the only criminal in Carlo’s back room who had apparently remembered not to show up.
