The banana knew the safe combination but insisted on speaking through reel four.

The chicken put my coin into a machine.

The machine returned an egg.

The egg cracked.

Six Wilds fell onto the farm.

The chicken continued reading HEN.

That last part was important.

She was sitting beside the reels in glasses, completely absorbed in literature apparently written for her exact demographic, while a machine underneath her converted currency into poultry products and launched them back onto a 7×7 field.

None of this caused her to lose her place.

A pig disappeared.

Two straw letters vanished with it.

New symbols fell.

The Wilds helped another cluster connect.

€1.80 eventually came out of the incident.

The chicken turned a page.

I had started with €100.00 at €0.60 per spin.

By that point I had stopped asking whether this was agriculture.

Wot’s Cluck’in Down on the Farm had a red barn in the distance, golden fields, pigs, cows, sheep and geese scattered through the reels.

That part was reassuring.

Then there was the chicken.

She sat on a large red cushion beside a machine containing three glowing egg slots.

The book in her wings said HEN.

Two rabbits appeared to live somewhere underneath the reading material.

If the farm had a normal daily routine, the reels were not showing it.

My first useful cluster had been six pigs.

They connected.

€0.60.

The pigs disappeared.

More farm arrived from above.

Nothing else formed.

Fine.

Pigs had briefly succeeded at farming.

The next several spins were mostly straw letters and animals refusing to stand beside enough relatives.

Four sheep.

Three cows.

A goose surrounded by Ks.

The balance moved down.

€97.60.

€96.40.

A Coin landed.

It did not pay.

Instead, it shot toward the chicken machine.

The chicken accepted this without looking up.

A colored egg appeared back in the same position.

That was when the machine began to concern me.

Money had entered.

An egg had returned.

There was no intermediate explanation.

This particular one was purple.

The normal cascades finished.

Then the purple shell cracked and Wilds dropped onto random positions.

Six of them.

That was the opening incident.

The farm briefly looked as though somebody had replaced several animals with glowing eggs after dark.

A small cluster connected through the new Wilds.

Symbols disappeared.

More dropped.

€1.80 total.

The machine went quiet again.

The chicken kept reading HEN.

I stared at the book.

Perhaps this was all in there.

Chapter Seven:

What to Do When Money Becomes Egg.

I pressed Spin.

Nothing.

Another spin produced cows.

Not enough.

Then a Coin landed on a spin where six pigs had already found each other.

The pigs formed a €0.60 cluster.

They disappeared.

The Coin went into the machine.

An orange Feature Egg came back.

The chicken continued her studies.

The egg cracked after the rest of the farm had finished moving.

4x.

The €0.60 became €2.40.

That was useful.

It also meant an orange egg had just multiplied the financial output of six pigs while being supervised by a chicken reading about chickens.

The barn remained in the background.

Presumably nobody inside had been informed.

Balance:

€94.60.

I stayed at €0.60.

The machine had now trained me properly.

A Coin was no longer money.

A Coin was unfinished egg.

I wanted to know what color it would become.

That is not a healthy sentence on most farms.

Another Coin arrived several spins later.

Different egg.

The resulting disruption produced nothing worth keeping.

Fine.

The chicken machine was allowed experimental batches.

The balance continued down.

€92.20.

A small goose cluster returned €0.60.

€92.80.

Then two Scatters landed.

Large chicken faces.

The rest of the reels stopped.

Two was enough to cause a Second Chance.

The Scatters stayed.

Everything else spun again.

The third chicken had one job.

Pig.

Cow.

J.

Sheep.

No chicken.

The two Scatters disappeared.

The hen beside the machine did not look up from HEN.

I had just failed to find a third chicken while sitting next to the largest chicken on the entire screen.

This farm was beginning to use poultry very selectively.

A few spins later:

Coin.

Feature Egg.

No meaningful rescue.

€90.40.

Then another two Scatters.

Locked.

Second Chance again.

The remaining reels moved.

I watched the spaces.

One chicken would do it.

A goose arrived.

Then a pig.

Then Q.

No third Scatter.

The farm had now used two extra attempts specifically to prove it could produce every bird except the required chicken.

The reader beside the machine remained unavailable.

€88.60.

Two more blank spins.

Then another small animal cluster returned €0.60.

After thirty base spins, I had spent €18.00 and received €5.40 back.

Balance:

€87.40.

The chicken had received several Coins.

The machine had produced multiple eggs.

The farm itself had achieved surprisingly little.

I pressed again.

€0.60.

Three Scatter chickens landed.

No Second Chance required.

Three of them had finally managed to attend the same agricultural event.

Golden Eggs Drop Frenzy.

Ten Free Spins.

Balance entering the feature:

€86.80.

The chicken closed absolutely nothing.

HEN remained open.

Apparently this section was familiar.

First Free Spin.

A Golden Egg dropped onto the grid.

1x.

It landed inside a pig cluster.

The pigs connected around it.

€1.20.

The Golden Egg took part.

The pigs disappeared.

The egg doubled and jumped into one of the empty positions left by the winning cluster.

That movement changed its entire personality.

An ordinary egg falls.

This one had learned relocation.

New symbols dropped around it.

Nothing else connected.

First Free Spin:

€1.20.

I accepted that.

The chicken had finally produced an egg with field experience.

Second Free Spin.

Two Golden Eggs dropped.

The farm filled around them.

No winning cluster.

Neither egg had anything to do.

At the end of the spin they flew away.

Into the piggy bank.

I watched them go.

That introduced another department of agriculture I had not expected.

The chicken produced eggs.

The farm attempted to employ them.

If an egg achieved nothing, a pig took it.

Very efficient ecosystem.

Third Free Spin.

One Golden Egg.

A small cow cluster formed through it.

€0.60.

The egg doubled.

Jumped.

The new location produced no second win.

€0.60 secured.

Fourth Free Spin.

This one was better.

Two Golden Eggs came down.

One joined a cluster.

Animals disappeared.

The egg doubled and jumped.

Fresh symbols fell.

Another cluster formed around the new position.

The same Golden Egg participated again.

Its number grew.

The second egg joined another little connection.

The farm started collapsing in useful patches.

Pigs out.

Straw letters out.

A cow arriving where a pig had recently been.

The two Golden Eggs kept appearing inside the wreckage with increasingly confident numbers attached to them.

Total for the spin:

€3.60.

The chicken beside the machine continued reading.

She had reached whatever chapter covered weaponized breakfast.

Six Free Spins remained.

Fifth spin.

One Golden Egg dropped.

Nothing connected.

Piggy bank.

The egg flew away.

I now cared about the piggy bank far more than the actual pig symbols on the reels.

The ordinary pigs could form clusters and pay.

This pig was accumulating unemployed gold eggs somewhere off-screen.

There had to be a reason.

Sixth Free Spin.

A Golden Egg landed beside enough geese to help.

€0.60.

One tiny successful farm event.

The egg doubled.

Jumped.

Nothing else.

Fine.

At least it avoided the pig.

Seventh.

Two Golden Eggs dropped.

No cluster.

Both flew into the piggy bank.

The pig now had five failed Golden Eggs from three separate spins.

The feature had begun with the chicken as the obvious agricultural authority.

Seven spins in, the pig appeared to control the reserves.

I had three Free Spins left.

Eighth.

One Golden Egg joined a cluster.

Then hopped into the empty patch.

Another small cluster connected.

€1.20.

The egg had done actual work twice.

I was beginning to divide the Golden Eggs into two groups.

Those that bounced around the farm causing trouble.

Those that immediately got sent to the pig.

Ninth Free Spin.

One egg.

No win.

Off it went.

Piggy bank again.

The feature total so far:

€7.20.

One spin remaining.

The balance still needed rescuing.

The pig had spent the feature collecting Golden Eggs that failed to achieve anything.

Now the last Free Spin arrived.

The piggy bank started shaking.

There were six stored eggs in there.

Six Golden Eggs had arrived on dead spins, looked around at a farm with no useful cluster, and been removed.

The pig did not give me six back.

That would have been generous.

The pig selected one.

It came out carrying:

6x.

Perfect.

Six eggs went in.

One egg came back with qualifications.

The final spin still dropped its normal Golden Eggs as well.

They landed elsewhere.

The 6x bonus egg dropped into a group of pigs.

Six pigs.

A proper cluster.

The base value was €0.60.

The bonus egg joined them.

€3.60.

The pigs disappeared.

The 6x egg had completed in seconds what the other stored eggs had failed to accomplish during their entire first lives.

Another cluster of geese formed away from it after the drop.

€0.60.

Final spin:

€4.20.

Feature total:

€11.40.

Balance:

€98.20.

I sat there for a few seconds looking at the chicken.

She still had HEN open.

The Cheeky Chicken Machine was back underneath her.

The three egg windows were quiet.

The piggy bank had finished shaking.

All the Golden Eggs were gone.

The farm had returned to pigs, cows, sheep, geese and straw letters behaving as though the previous ten spins had not included a pig storing failed magical eggs for later reassignment.

I had started with €100.00.

The base game took me to €86.80 before the Free Spins began.

The farm then sent Golden Eggs bouncing through animal clusters, removed the useless ones to a pig, and returned exactly one of them on the final spin with 6x attached.

That brought me back to €98.20.

I stopped there.

The session had cost €1.80.

For that, I had learned that the chicken could turn money into eggs, the eggs could turn themselves into Wilds, Golden Eggs could jump, and a pig could take six unsuccessful eggs and eventually return one with a number on it.

The chicken never stopped reading HEN.

At this point, I assumed she was studying the instructions.

Power Pops gave me a free spin and a moral dilemma.
